Everyone knows that it is necessary to eat rationally. Okay, but how exactly is that?
Rational, or as it is translated from Latin, smart nutrition is nutrition that provides the body with a sufficient amount of energy and all macronutrients: proteins, fats and carbohydrates, but not only them. Equally important is a sufficient amount of water, starch, fiber, pectin and about 90 micronutrients in the diet.
So, rational nutrition is:
- quantitatively complete – contains a sufficient number of calories taking into account your age, gender, physical activity and desired body weight;
- qualitatively complete – the diet contains all the nutrients you need for growth, development and normal functioning of the body: a sufficient content of protein, saturated and unsaturated fats, simple and complex carbohydrates, vitamins and macro- and microelements (calcium, iron, etc.);
- balanced – all nutrients are in the right proportions and do not compete with each other;
- optimal – following specific individual diet: eating 3-4 times a day, at approximately the same time.
Do not forget to eat slowly, at least 20 minutes! This is the only way to feel full and satisfied! And the process of chewing relieves stress and tension! So chew your food thoroughly!
